Network Operation Centre (NOC) Engineer – Tier 2

A leading and reputable telecommunication company based in Sydney CBD location is currently looking for an experienced Tier 2 Network Operation Centre (NOC) Engineer who will be the initial technical interface for all customer logged enquiries.

You will be part of a high performance team who are equipped with the latest technologies and detect incidents for the managed services customers to proactively communicate and resolve technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

– Fault identification and troubleshooting (including patching, replacement of physical hardware).
– Diagnose and resolve issues and where required, escalate to relevant technical support groups, ensuring that the description of the issue is clear, comprehensive and classified with the appropriate priority.
– Technical resolution of incidents spanning MPLS, IP, SIP, VMware, Firewall and SDWAN network environments
– Proactively monitor core facilities information and customer managed infrastructure to identify incidents.
– Anticipating and taking action to meet customer needs and continually searching for ways to increase customer satisfaction.
– Identify opportunities to improve the issue management process and communicate/collaborate with peers and management to initiate change.
– Promoting a positive image and realistic expectation to customers, demonstrating a corporate commitment to customer care.
– Ensure appropriate handover of customer issues during shift transitions
– Deliver quality customer service, managing expectations, following up on commitments and closing all tasks during issue resolution.

Key Requirements:

– Must hold an IT/Engineering degree, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA.
– Knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols: MRTG, RRD, NAGIOS, SNMP, SMARTS)
– Knowledge in data networking products and technologies: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, VMware, Broadsoft, Velocloud.
– Expert in Juniper or Cisco network infrastructure with advanced troubleshooting skills
– Exceptional knowledge of the OSI model.
– Ability to troubleshoot issues in a Windows, Networking and Unix environment.
– An aptitude for diagnostics and repair.
– A positive, professional with pro-active attitude towards customer enquiries.
– Service oriented individual with excellent communication skills.
– An Australian Citizenship is mandatory and must be willing to obtain Federal Gove
ment Security Clearance, if required.

The normal working hours is 8:30AM – 5:30PM. There is no “graveyard shifts” involved.

Must be willing to work on a rotational on-call roster – one week/month.
